Alert: Advertised Chatbot Services

The Security Offices have been made aware of advertisements for students to engage with a chatbot to help with stress resulting from academic or personal events (see screenshot below). This service is NOT related to or provided by Duke in any way. The product appears to have been developed by a group known as Interact AI who has no official relationship with any Duke offices or organizations.

We highly recommend students, faculty and staff avoid interacting with or using this service as the company is not affiliated with Duke and has not been reviewed for security and privacy practices. The company’s privacy policy, indicated that any data shared with the application will be used both by the developers and shared with OpenAI API, a 3rd party AI service. You have no guarantee of the security and privacy of details shared with this application.
